The Airbus A320-211 has been with Air Canada since 2015 after spending its first 15 years with Air France. We photographed this aircraft on July 2, 2017 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

C-FLKX

C-FLKX took its first flight on August 4, 2000 and was delivered to Air France on August 17, 2000 as F-GTAI. In January, 2015, the Airbus A321 went into storage and was transferred to the Air Canada fleet on November 2, 2015. This is one of 15 Airbus A321-200 models in the Air Canada main fleet with five more flying for Air Canada Rouge. The airliner is configured for a maximum total of 183 passengers with 14 seats in business class and 169 more in economy class.

The largest of the Airbus A320 family, the Airbus A321-200 is 20 feet longer than the A320 while sharing the same wingspan and tail height. The aircraft was introduced with Lufthansa in March, 1994 and nearly 1,500 have been built since 1992.

The Airbus A321-200 is 45 metres or 146 feet in length with a wingspan of 36 metres or 118 feet. At the tail, the airplane stands 12 metres or 39 feet in height. The flight range for this aircraft is 5,950 kilometres.

Air Canada

Headquartered at the Air Canada Centre on the grounds of Montreal’s Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) in Dorval, Quebec, Air Canada was founded in 1937 as Trans Canada Air Lines.

The airline has a fleet of nearly 175 aircraft in the main fleet, flying to over 200 destinations around the world. Including subsidiaries Air Canada Express and Air Canada Rouge, those numbers inflate to just under 400 aircraft and over 350 destinations.

The main fleet is led in size by the Boeing 777-300ER, an aircraft they have 19 of. The most in the fleet is the 42 Airbus A320-200.

Air Canada is a founding member of the Star Alliance of airlines, along with Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Thai Airways and United Airlines. The alliance is now made up of 27 members worldwide.
