C-FXCA

C-FXCA took its first flight on April 5, 1990 and was delivered to Canadian Airlines on April 27, 1990. The Boeing 767-375ER was transferred to Air Canada on March 29, 2001 after Canadian was acquired by the larger airline. Between October 19, 2001 and January 1, 2002, the B763 went to Qantas on a short term lease.

One of ten Boeing 767-300ER aircraft in the main Air Canada fleet, it is joined by 24 more in the Air Canada Rouge fleet. This airliner is configured for a maximum total of 211 passengers with 24 seats in business class and 187 more in economy class.

On September 29, 2014, C-FXCA was flying from Toronto, Ontario to Zurich, Switzerland. On final approach, the B763 had to abort the landing twice after losing autoland on both occasions. The auto pilot was a necessity with low visibility. The aircraft was diverted to Geneva, Switzerland for a safe landing. With a delay of eight hours, the aircraft did finally reach its proper destination.

On October 8, 2016, the Boeing 767-300ER was flying from Milan, Italy to Toronto. The takeoff was ejected at a speed of 90 knots because the pilot’s analog airspeed indicator was not functioning. The airspeed indicator was replaced and the flight was rescheduled for the following day with a delay of 21 hours.

1/200 scale models of this aircraft are available for purchase. The Daron Skymarks Air Canada Boeing 767-300ER with C-FXCA registration is 27.3cm or 11.5 inches in length and weighs in at a solid 340 grams.
