The new kid on the British Airways block, G-XWBE joined the fleet in February, 2020 and is one of five Airbus A350-1000 models currently in the fleet. We photographed this A35X on March 22, 2020 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

G-XWBE
G-XWBE performed its first flight on January 16, 2020. The Airbus A350-1041 was delivered to British Airways on February 12, 2020. This is currently one of five in the fleet with 13 more on order.
This A35X is configured for a maximum total of 331 passengers. There are 56 seats in business class, 56 more in premium economy and 219 economy class seats.

Airbus A350-1000
The first Airbus A350-1000 was delivered to launch customer Qatar Airways on February 20, 2018. The first commercial flight took place four days later on February 24, 2018.
The A35X is 73.79 metres or 242 feet in length. This puts it about 23 feet longer than the Airbus A350-900. It also makes it over three feet longer than the Airbus A380-800.
The wingspan is 64.75 metres or 212 feet, a dimension shared with the A359. At the tail, the aircraft statnds 17.08 metres or 56 feet in height. This airliner has a maximum flight range of 16,100 kilometres, about 1,100 KM more than the Airbus A350-900.
British Airways
British Airways was created in 1974 with the merging of four airlines: British Overseas Airways, British European Airways, Cambrian Airways and Northeast Airlines. In 2011, British Airways merged with Iberia. The airline is headquartered in Waterside, Harmondsworth, England and is a founding member of the Oneworld Alliance.
The airline has more than 275 aircraft flying to over 180 destinations around the world. Leading the fleet are 12 Airbus A380-800 aircraft and over 30 Boeing 747-400 models. The most numerous in the fleet is currently the Airbus A320-200.
