N433UA

N433UA took its first flight on April 1, 1996 and the Airbus A320-232 was delivered to United Airlines on June 3, 1996. From February, 2004 to January, 2009, the A320 flew for United brand Ted. Ted flew from 2004 to 2009 as a low cost carrier servicing vacation destinations.

Currently, N433UA is configured for a maximum total of 150 passengers, six less than its Ted days. There are 12 first class seats, 42 more in premium economy and 96 economy class seats. This is one of 99 Airbus A320 airliners in the main United fleet.

Not long ago, on March 15, 2018, N433UA was to fly from Tampa, Florida to San Francisco, California. On the initial climb out of Tampa, the A320 experienced numerous bird strikes. The crew leveled off at 6,000 feet after it was determined there was a problem with the number 2 pitot. This is an item that determines an aircraft’s speed, altitude and more. After burning off fuel for three hours, about half the projected flight time to San Francisco, the aircraft returned to Tampa for a safe landing.
