TF-GPA

TF-GPA performed its maiden flight on August 2, 2016 and was delivered to WOW air on August 5, 2016. The Airbus A321-211 (with winglets installed) is one of eight in the fleet. The aircraft is configured for a maximum total of 210 passengers with eight ‘big seats’ and 202 economy class seats.

Airbus A321-200

The largest in the Airbus A320 Family, the Airbus A321-200 first flew with launch customer Monarch Airlines in April, 1997. A rare, earlier version of the A321, the A321-100, was introduced with Lufthansa three years earlier in March, 1994.

The A321 is 45 metres or 146 feet in length (23 feet longer than the A320) and has a wingspan of 36 metres or 118 feet. At the tail, the aircraft stands 12 metres or 39 feet in height. The flight range is 5,950 kilometres. In all, nearly 1,500 have entered service.

WOW air

In late March, 2019, WOW air ceased operations. The airline was unable to secure financing to continue performing flights. After the abrupt cancellation of all flights, passengers were left to scramble to re-book with other airlines.

WOW air was founded in November, 2011 and commenced operations on May 31, 2012. Headquartered in Reykjavik, Iceland and based at Keflavik International Airport, WOW is a low cost carrier and an affordable alternative for travel between North America and Europe.

The airline had a fleet of 20 aircraft flying to 38 destinations in Europe, Canada and the United States in 2018. In Canada, WOW flew to just Toronto and Montreal with those routes starting in 2016. The fleet consisted of Airbus A330-300, Airbus A321-200, Airbus A320-200 and Airbus A320neo aircraft. One of the aircraft was operated by Avion Express and there were four Airbus A330-900neo variants on order for deliveries starting in 2018 but those were cancelled.
