Three times each week, Emirates lands an Airbus A380-800 at Toronto Pearson International Airport. A6-EEV is one of the 95 Airbus A380 aircraft in the Emirates fleet at the moment (with 12 more on order). Even if you visited YYZ every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, it would take a long time to photograph the rest of the fleet.

A6-EEV
A6-EEV made its first flight on December 12, 2013 and was delivered to Emirates on May 19, 2014. As mentioned, this is one of 95 Airbus A380-800 aircraft in the fleet and the airline is the world’s largest user of this type of airliner.This Airbus A380 is configured with 12 first class seats with 76 more in business class and 400 more in economy class seating for a maximum total of 488 passengers.
Flight EK241 travels from Dubai International Airport (DXB) to Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) each Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The flight is 14 hours long and there is close to a six hour turnaround at Toronto before heading back to the United Arab Emirates. The return flight is a bit shorter at just under 13 hours.
Airbus A380-800
The Airbus A380-800 was first introduced in October, 2007 with Singapore Airlines. As of June 1, 2017, 213 have been built and the aircraft flies with 13 different airlines, landing at just 48 airports around the world. In North America, you can see an Airbus A380 at just nine airports with Toronto Pearson being the only airport in Canada.
At 73 metres or 239 feet, the A380 is just seven feet longer than the Boeing 747-400 but has a wingspan that is 50 feet wider (80 metres or 262 feet). A the tail, the aircraft stands 24 metres or 79 feet in height. The Boeing 777-300ER is just a tad longer at 242 feet. The flight range for the Airbus A380 is a lofty 15,200 kilometres. The distance from Toronto, Ontario to Dubai is 11,092 KM.
Emirates
Based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the airline is part of the Emirates group and is owned by the Government of Dubai. The main hub for the airline is the Dubai International Airport with headquarters in Garhoud, Dubai, UAE. The airline was founded and commenced operations in 1985.
With a fleet of 261 aircraft, Emirates flies to 140 destinations worldwide. The fleet is led the by the Airbus A380 with 95 currently. They are the largest operators of both the A380 and the Boeing 777-300ER. Emirates was the second airline to fly the A380, after Singapore Airlines.
