A6-ETH

A6-ETH performed its first flight on August 15, 2011. The Boeing 777-3FXER was delivered to Etihad Airways on September 14, 2011. The airliner is one of 19 Boeing 777-300ER models in the main fleet of this Abu Dhabi based airline.

This B77W is configured for a maximum total of 380 passengers. There are 40 seats in business class and 340 economy class seats. This is one of three different configurations for the Boeing 777-300ER with this airline. The others have room for 328 and 412 passengers.

Boeing 777-300ER

The Boeing 777-300ER was first delivered to launch customer Air France in 2004, nearly a decade after the initial 777 variant was introduced with United Airlines in 1995. The ER is for ‘extended range’ and this aircraft can fly a lofty 13,650 kilometres between stops.

The B77W is 74 metres or 242 feet in length with a wingspan of 65 metres or 213 feet. At the tail, the airliner is 19 metres or 61 feet in height. Though not the most glamorous of the big airplanes, the Boeing 777-300ER is longer than both the Boeing 747-400 (by 10 feet) and Airbus A380-800 (by 3 feet).

Etihad Airways

Etihad Airways was founded in July, 2003 and is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The airline is based at Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH). That airport opened in 1982 and has two runways, both, 4,100 metres or 13,451 feet in length.

The airline has a fleet of over 180 aircraft, flying to 130 destinations around the world. The fleet is slated to more than double in size with nearly 160 more airplanes on order. The largest in the fleet is the Airbus A380-800 (to be reinstated into the fleet in 2023) while the most numerous is the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
