This Boeing 737 MAX 8 sat for over two years before finally being able to carry passengers. C-FLRS was new to Flair Airlines at the end of March, 2022 but took its first flight back in February, 2020. We photographed this B38M on August 5, 2022 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

C-FLRS
C-FLRS performed its first flight on February 7, 2020. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 was delivered to Flair Airlines on March 31, 2022. This airliner is configured for a maximum total of 189 passengers, all in economy class.
For this Canadian ultra low cost carrier, C-FLRS is one of 21 B38M models currently in the fleet.

Boeing 737 MAX 8
The initial variant in the Boeing 737 MAX family, the Boeing 737 MAX 8 made its maiden flight on January 29, 2016. The B38M was introduced with launch customer Malindo Air on May 22, 2017. In its infancy, the MAX family has over 4,000 orders with just 80 of those orders filled as of January, 2018.
The Boeing 737 MAX 8 is 40 metres or 130 feet in length, making it slightly longer than the Boeing 737-800, the airliner it is replacing. The wingspan is 36 metres or 118 feet and the airplane stands 12 metres or 40 feet at the tail (making it slightly shorter than the B738). The flight range is 6,570 kilometres, which is a significant 1,000 KM increase over the Boeing 737-800.
Flair Airlines
Flair Airlines was founded in 2005. Currently, the Canadian airline has a fleet of 24 aircraft flying to over 30 destinations. The fleet consists of mostly Boeing 737 MAX 8 models with a few Boeing 737-800 aircraft. All of the airlines Boeing 737-400 airplanes have been phased out.
Flair is headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and Edmonton International Airport (YEG) serves as its main hub. The airline began as an all cargo business, making deliveries between Canada and Cuba on behalf of Cubana. Flair does operate some flights on behalf of Air Transat.
