The largest in the Air Canada fleet and one of 19 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft currently flying for the Canadian airline, C-FNNQ has been around since 2013. We photographed the B77W while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) on July 21, 2017.

C-FNNQ
C-FNNQ took its first flight on October 30, 2013 and the Boeing 777-333ER was delivered to Air Canada on November 29, 2013. As mentioned, this is one of 19 B77W airliners currently flying for Air Canada and is the largest aircraft in the fleet. The Boeing 777-300ER is configured for a maximum total of 450 passengers with 28 seats in business class, 24 more in premium economy and 398 in economy class.
Nearing its first birthday, C-FNNQ had some difficulties on September 26, 2014 while flying from Montreal, Quebec to Paris, France. En route, the crew lost all navigation systems. The flight continued on and 30 minutes later, the navigation system was recovered. C-FNNQ landed safely in Paris, as scheduled. The problem was caused by software that had a new release coming out the following month.
Boeing 777-300ER
The first Boeing 777-300ER was delivered to Air France in 2004, nearly a decade after the initial 777 variant entered service with United Airlines in 1995. The ER is for ‘extended range’ and the 777ER can fly around 2,500 kilometres further in a single flight than the base -300. The flight range is a lofty 13,650 KM.
The B77W is 74 metres or 242 feet in length, making it 10 feet longer than the Boeing 747-400 and 33 feet longer than an Airbus A330-300. The wingspan is 65 metres or 213 feet and at the tail, the aircraft stands 19 metres or 61 feet in height.
Air Canada
The largest airline in Canada, Air Canada was founded in 1937 as Trans Canada Air Lines, under the ownership of the Canadian National Railway. The name officially changed to its current form on January 1, 1965. The airline is headquartered at Montreal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL).
Air Canada has a main fleet of around 175 aircraft, flying to over 200 destinations around the world. With subsidiaries added in, those numbers grow to over 400 airplanes flying to 350 destinations worldwide.
The airline is a founding member of the Star Alliance. Other founding members include Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Thai Airways and United Airlines. There are now 27 member airlines around the world.
