C-FYJG
C-FYJG performed its first flight on March 20, 1997. The Airbus A319-113 was delivered to the main line of Air Canada on April 23, 1997. The A319 was then transferred to subsidiary Air Canada Rouge on December 10, 2013.
This is one of 22 Airbus A319-100 models in the Rouge fleet. The airliner is configured for a maximum total of 136 passengers. There are 12 seats in first class and 124 economy class seats.
On January 20, 2018, this Airbus A319 was flying from St. Kitts in the Caribbean to Toronto, Ontario. Flying at 39,000 feet and closing in on the Buffalo, New York area, a hydraulic failure was detected. The flight continued to Toronto for a safe landing. The incident resulted from a leaking check valve of the green hydraulic system.
Earlier this year, on April 17, 2019, C-FYJG was flying from Toronto to Los Cabos, Mexico. The initial climb was halted at 10,000 feet after an odour was detected in the cockpit. The aircraft landed safely back at Toronto 40 minutes after taking off. A replacement, C-FYJP, was brought in to take passengers to their destination. The incident resulted from the right hand air conditioning pack and condensers being contaminated with oil.

Airbus A319-100
The maiden flight of the Airbus A319-100 occurred on August 25, 1995 with the aircraft introduced with launch customer Swissair in 1996. The shortened version of the Airbus A320-200, the A319 is 34 metres or 111 feet in length with a wingspan of 36 metres or 118 feet. At the tail, the airplane is 12 metres or 39 feet in height. The flight range is 6,950 kilometres.
Air Canada Rouge
Air Canada Rouge was founded in December, 2012 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Canada. The brand has a fleet of over 60 aircraft flying to 50 destinations. Prior to March, 2020, there were 25 Boeing 767-300ER, 22 Airbus A319-100, four Airbus A320-200 and 14 Airbus A321-200 models.
The airline announced at the start of May, 2020 that all Boeing 767 and Airbus A319 aircraft would be retired, a result of the COVID-19 fallout. This leaves the brand with just 18 airlines, all either Airbus A321-200 or Airbus A320-200. Through the main airline, Rouge is a member of the Star Alliance.
