On July 29, 2013, C-FZUJ was flying from Vancouver, British Columbia to Montreal, Quebec. Flying at 35,000 feet, southeast of Calgary, Alberta, crew experienced an issue with the right side engine. The engine was shut down and the A319 was diverted back to Calgary International Airport (YYC) for a safe landing. Substantial damage was found in the engine’s high pressure compressor.
