We have featured C-GITR at It’s About Airplanes before. This Airbus A319-100 was with the mainline fleet of Air Canada (see photos and info here) until being transferred to Rouge in 2018. We photographed this aircraft on July 14, 2019 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

C-GITR
C-GITR performed its first flight on August 31, 2001. The Airbus A319-112 was delivered to Air Canada on September 14, 2001. On June 12, 2018, the airliner began its new life with Air Canada Rouge.
This A319 is configured for a maximum total of 136 passengers. There are 12 seats in premium Rouge and 124 economy class seats. Formerly, the airplane had seating for 120 with 14 seats in business class and 106 in economy.
This is one of 22 Airbus A319-100 models in the Rouge fleet. There are 13 more in the mainline and three in charter brand Jetz.
This aircraft has been incident free since we last profiled it in October, 2017. There were a few issues prior to that and those are documented in the previous feature on C-GITR.

Airbus A319-100
The maiden flight of the Airbus A319-100 occurred on August 25, 1995 with the aircraft introduced with launch customer Swissair in 1996. The shortened version of the Airbus A320-200, the A319 is 34 metres or 111 feet in length with a wingspan of 36 metres or 118 feet. At the tail, the airplane is 12 metres or 39 feet in height. Air Canada Rouge
Air Canada Rouge was founded in December, 2012 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Canada. The brand has a fleet of over 60 aircraft flying to 50 destinations. Prior to March, 2020, there were 25 Boeing 767-300ER, 22 Airbus A319-100, four Airbus A320-200 and 14 Airbus A321-200 models.
The airline announced at the start of May, 2020 that all Boeing 767 and Airbus A319 aircraft would be retired, a result of the COVID-19 fallout. This leaves the brand with just 18 airlines, all either Airbus A321-200 or Airbus A320-200. Through the main airline, Rouge is a member of the Star Alliance.
