C-GOIH is one of three Airbus A321neo models currently in the Air Transat fleet. Before the COVID-19 crisis, there were 13 more on order. It remains to be seen when and if those aircraft will arrive. We photographed this airliner on March 22, 2020 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

C-GOIH
C-GOIH performed its first flight on February 4, 2020. The Airbus A321-271NXLR (Airbus A321neo / Airbus A321LR) was delivered to Air Transat on February 14, 2020. This 32Q is configured for a maximum total of 199 passengers. There are 12 seats in premium economy and 187 economy class seats.
After only being in service for a week, this Airbus A321neo had some challenges on a flight form Montreal, Quebec to Sint Maarten on February 22, 2020. There were no mechanical issues but a small airplane was on the runway when it wasn’t supposed to be. Down to just 100 feet above the ground, the airplane was forced to go around, climbing back to 2,600 feet before coming back in for a safe landing on the second attempt.

Airbus A321neo
The Airbus A321LR is a variant of the Airbus A321neo. This model was launched on January 13, 2015. The first was delivered to launch customer Arkia on November 13, 2018. Arkia was founded in 1949 as Israel Inland Airlines. The Israeli airline is headquartered in Tel Aviv and flies a fleet of seven aircraft to 25 destinations.
This airplane is 44.51 metres or 146 feet in length. The wingspan is 35.8 metres or 117 feet. The height at the tail is 11.76 metres or 39 feet. The LR designation means this airliner can fly 7,400 kilometres in a single flight, nearly 1,000 more than a regular Airbus A321-200.
Air Transat
Air Transat commenced operations in 1987 and is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The airline has a fleet of 31 aircraft flying to nearly 80 destinations. The largest in the fleet is the Airbus A330-300.
As of May, 2019, the airline was to be purchased by Air Canada. The acquisition was scapped in April, 2021.
