What’ll C-GTSJ look like a year from now after the sale of Air Transat to Air Canada becomes official? For now, Airbus A330-200 is a pretty bird. We photographed the A332 on May 18, 2019 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

C-GTSJ performed its maiden flight on October 24, 2006. The Airbus A330-243 was first delivered to Thomas Cook Airlines on November 16, 2006 as G-TCXA. It was put into storage in October, 2011.

On November 20, 2011, this airliner was delivered to Air Transat. This Airbus A330-200 is configured for a maximum total of 345 passengers. There are 12 seats in premium economy and 333 economy class seats. This is one of 16 A332 airplanes currently in this Canadian airline’s fleet.

Airbus A330-200

The Airbus A330-200 followed the Airbus A330-300 and is a shortened version of that variant. The first A332 entered service with Korean Air in 1998. The aircraft is 59 metres or 193 feet in length, 16 feet shorter than the A333. The wingspan is 60 metres or 198 feet and the airline stands 17 metres or 57 feet in height at the tail. The flight range is 13,450 kilometres, over 1,500 KM more than the Airbus A330-300.

Air Transat

Air Transat commenced operations in 1987 and is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The airline has a fleet of 31 aircraft flying to nearly 80 destinations. The largest in the fleet is the Airbus A330-300.

As of May, 2019, the airline was to be purchased by Air Canada. The acquisition was scapped in April, 2021.
