Just before the fog got so bad that we had to call it a day, D-AALC burst through the mist with a bit of drama. We photographed this AeroLogic Boeing 777F on March 3, 2020 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

D-AALC
D-AALC took its first flight on December 7, 2009. The Boeing 777-FZN was delivered to AeroLogic on December 23, 2009. This is the third oldest in the Germany based cargo airline’s fleet of 14 (all the same model). It was delivered together with D-AALD.
On April 21, 2013, the freighter had a minor incident while trying to take off from Leipzig, Germany on a flight to Hong Kong, China. Well, it was minor but it could have been much worse. Crew were forced to reject the initial takeoff attempt at high speed after a Cessna 172 misinterpreted its instructions and nearly crossed the runway in front of the much larger aircraft.

Boeing 777F
The first Boeing 777F was delivered to Air France on February 19, 2009. The freighter shares dimensions with the Boeing 777-200LR passenger plane. As of December, 2017, 138 of this variant had been delivered among 16 different customers with another 30 airplanes on order.
The Boeing 777F is 64 metres or 209 feet in length with a wingspan of 65 metres or 213 feet. At the tail, the aircraft stands 19 metres or 61 feet in height. The flight range is 9,200 kilometres.
AeroLogic
AeroLogic was founded in 2007 and commenced operations in 2009. Headquartered in Schkeuditz, Germany, the cargo airline has a fleet of 13 Boeing 777F freighters that fly to 22 regular destinations around the world. AeroLogic is a joint venture between DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo with each company holding 50% ownership.
