Weekdays in Asia. Weekends in North America. Such is the life of an AeroLogic Boeing 777f, like D-AALE. The cargo airline is a joint venture between DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo. On weekends, it’s Lufthansa’s turn to fly this freighter. We photographed this B77F on December 15, 2018 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

D-AALE
D-AALE performed its first flight on May 20, 2010 and was delivered to AeroLogic on June 2, 2010. This means the Boeing 777-FZN has always been a freighter and was not converted from a passenger jet. This is one of ten Boeing 777f aircraft in the AeroLogic fleet.

Boeing 777f
The first Boeing 777F was delivered to Air France on February 19, 2009. The freighter shares dimensions with the Boeing 777-200LR passenger plane. As of December, 2017, 138 of this variant had been delivered among 16 different customers with another 30 airplanes on order.
The Boeing 777F is 64 metres or 209 feet in length with a wingspan of 65 metres or 213 feet. At the tail, the aircraft stands 19 metres or 61 feet in height. The flight range is 9,200 kilometres.
AeroLogic
AeroLogic was founded in 2007 and commenced operations in 2009. Headquartered in Schkeuditz, Germany, the cargo airline has a fleet of 13 Boeing 777F freighters that fly to 22 regular destinations around the world. AeroLogic is a joint venture between DHL Express and Lufthansa Cargo with each company holding 50% ownership.
