We captured D-AIKJ back in June, 2018 when the Airbus A330-300 was still flying for Lufthansa. Since, the A333 has been taken out of the main fleet and will soon be in the skies for subsidiary Brussels Airlines. We photographed D-AIKJ on June 29, 2018 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

D-AIKJ

D-AIKJ performed its first flight on September 26, 2005 and was delivered to Lufthansa on November 4, 2005. Named Bottrop, the Airbus A330-343 left the main fleet at the start of September, 2018 and will return to service as OO-SFJ for subsidiary Brussels Airlines. The A333 was configured for a maximum total of 255 passengers with Lufthansa. There were 42 seats in business class, 28 more in premium economy and 185 economy class seats. With Brussels Airlines, the airliner will be reconfigured for a maximum of 288 passengers.

On March 5, 2013, D-AIKJ was flying from Chicago, Illinois to Munich, Germany. Upon takeoff, the Airbus A330-300 experienced a tail strike that went undetected. After landing safely in Munich, it was noticed that the airplane had experienced substantial structural damage from that tail strike.
