With D-AIXH, we build our collection of Lufthansa Airbus A350-900 models to two. The first, D-AIXL, is painted in the German airline’s newest livery. Not D-AIXH, it’s in the older blue and gold. We photographed his A359 on May 18, 2019 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

D-AIXH
D-AIXH performed its first flight on January 19, 2018. The Airbus A350-941 was delivered to Lufthansa on February 15, 2018. The airliner is named Magdeburg.
This A359 is configured for a maximum total of 293 passengers. There are 48 seats in business class, 21 more in premium economy and 224 economy class seats. This is one of 14 Airbus A350-900 airplanes currently in the fleet with 31 more on order.

Airbus A350-900
The first flight on an Airbus A350-900 took place on June 14, 2013. The first was introduced with launch customer Qatar Airways on January 15, 2015. That airline is also the launch customer for the Airbus A350-900. Along with Qatar Airways, other major operators include Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific.
The A359 is 66.8 metres or 219 feet in length with a wingspan of 64.75 metres or 212 feet. At the tail, the aircraft stands 17.05 metres or 56 feet in height. The flight range is 15,000 kilometres. These numbers make the Airbus A350-900 larger than the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner with a greater flight range.
Lufthansa
Lufthansa was founded in 1953 and commenced operations in 1955. The airline is headquartered in Cologne, Germany, using Frankfurt and Munich as main hubs. The German airline has a main fleet of nearly 280 aircraft flying to 220 destinations around the world. The fleet is led by Airbus A380-800 and Boeing 747-8 aircraft with still eight Boeing 747-400 remaining, for now.
The airline is a founding member of the Star Alliance. Other founding members include Scandinavian Airlines, Thai Airways, Air Canada and United Airlines. The alliance is headquartered in Frankfurt am Main, Germany and now has 26 full member airlines.
