Nearing it’s first anniversary in the skies for Aer Lingus, we photographed EI-GAJ while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) on March 25, 2018. The images of the Airbus A330-300 were captured with a Canon Rebel T6i DSLR camera.

EI-GAJ
EI-GAJ performed its maiden flight on May 5, 2017 and was delivered to Aer Lingus on May 23, 2017. The Airbus A330-302 is one of eight in the main fleet of the Ireland based airline and is named ‘St. Carthage’. The airliner is configured for a maximum total of 313 passengers with 30 seats in business class and 283 economy class seats.

Airbus A330-300
The initial variant of the Airbus A330 Family, the Airbus A330-300 took its maiden flight in November, 1992 and was first introduced with Air Inter in January, 1994. Air Inter was an airline out of France that commenced operations in 1958 and ceased ops in 1997 when it was swallowed up by Air France.
The direct competitor to the Boeing 777-200, the A333 is 64 metres or 209 feet in length with a wingspan of 60 metres or 198 feet. At the tail, the airplane stands 17 metres or 55 feet in height. The flight range for the Airbus A330-300 is 11,750 kilometres.
Aer Lingus
Now under the ownership of the International Airlines Group, the same group that owns British Airways, Vueling and Iberia, Aer Lingus was founded and commenced operations in 1936. The Irish airline is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland on the grounds of the Dublin Airport (DUB). The airline has survived three separate takeover attempts by ultra low cost carrier Ryanair.
Aer Lingus has a fleet of more than 50 aircraft flying to close to 100 destinations. The Airbus A330-300 is currently the largest capacity aircraft in the fleet while the airline also flies the smaller Airbus A330-200. The airline was once a member of the Oneworld Alliance but left in 2007.
