After holding for a half hour, the gear was finally able to be lowered and a safe landing occurred. Passengers reported that a hydraulic leak was announced five hours into the flight.

Recently, on July 14, 2019, this Boeing 777-200ER was flying from London to Cancun, Mexico. Cruising at 36,000 feet, 700 miles past Shannon, Ireland, fumes were reported on board. Crew diverted back to Shannon for a safe landing. However, eight people needed medical attention.
