Although it first flew in 2008, N181GJ is a relative newcomer to the Delta Connection fleet. The Bombardier CRJ-900 started life with defunct Uruguay airline Pluna. We photographed this CRJ-900 on April 17, 2019 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

N181GJ
N181GJ was delivered to Pluna on November 18, 2008 as CX-CRF. Pluna was founded in 1936 and ceased operations on July 5, 2012. The South American airline was headquartered in Montevideo, Uruguay.
The Bombardier CRJ-900 was delivered to GoJet Airlines on may 4, 2015. GoJet performs flights on behalf of Delta Connection. The airplane is configured for a maximum total of 76 passengers. There are 12 seats in first class, 20 more in premium economy and 44 economy class seats. This is one of seven CRJ-900 airliners that GoJet flies for Delta.
Bombardier CRJ-900
The Bombardier CRJ-900 is a stretched version of the CRJ700. The launch customer was Mesa Air Group, a regional operator in the United States. There are now nearly 500 CRJ900 aircraft in service.
The aircraft is 36.2 metres or 119 feet in length. At the tail, the airliner stands 7.5 metres or 25 feet in height. The wingspan is 24.9 metres or 82 feet. The maximum flight range is 2,876 kilometres.
Delta Connection
Delta Connection is a regional brand of Delta Air Lines. There are six regional airlines that operate flights for Delta Connection, including: Endeavor Air, ExpressJet, SkyWest Airlines, Compass Airlines, GoJet Airlines and Republic Airline. Endeavor is the only airline in the group wholly owned by Delta. The combined fleet numbers over 450 aircraft.
GoJet Airlines
GoJet Airlines was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Bridgeton, Missouri. The airline flies to 57 destinations as a regional carrier under the United Express and Delta Connection brands. GoJet has a fleet of 54 aircraft with 47 CRJ-700 and seven CRJ-900 models. The airline is a member of the Star Alliance through their affiliation with United Airlines and also a member of the SkyTeam Alliance through their affiliation with Delta Airlines.
