Usually Delta Air Lines airplanes aren’t a rare treat. But, it was a pleasant surprise to capture N3758Y, a Boeing 737-800 sporting a special SkyTeam Alliance livery. We photographed this B738 on September 8, 2019 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

N3758Y

N3758Y performed its maiden flight on August 6, 2001. The Boeing 737-832 (with winglets) was delivered to Delta Air Lines on August 22, 2001. This aircraft is configured for a maximum total of 160 passengers. There are 16 seats in first class, 36 more in premium economy and 108 economy class seats. This is one of 77 Boeing 737-800 models in the main fleet of this American airline.

Back on April 19, 2013, this airliner apparently was trying to take its passengers directly to the parking lot, bypassing the terminal. On a flight from Los Angeles, California to Columbus, Ohio, the airplane overran the runway after landing at its destination. The nose gear ended up on the soft ground. There were no injuries and no damage to the airplane. However, passengers had to disembark via stairs from that point and take a bus to the terminal.
