To be the oldest of 97 is quite the honour. N401UA is just that when it comes to the Airbus A320-200 models in the main United Airlines fleet. We photographed this airliner on August 25, 2019 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

This aircraft is configured for a maximum total of 150 passengers. There are 12 seats in first class, 42 more in premium economy and 96 economy class seats. This is one of 97 Airbus A320-200 airplanes in the United fleet.

On July 31, 2011, N401UA was flying from Washington, DC to Cancun, Mexico. Cruising at 38,000 feet, off the coast of Havana, Cuba, an unusual smell was detected in the cabin. In the cockpit, a burning smell was noticed. The aircraft was diverted to Havana as a precaution.
