N574FE

N574FE was first delivered to Garuda Indonesia on December 1, 1991 as EI-CDI. Garuda was founded in 1947 and commenced operations on 1949. The airline is a member of the SkyTeam Alliance and has a fleet of over 140 aircraft flying to 90 destinations. Garuda flew MD-11 models from 1990 to 1998.

On December 21, 1996, the MD-11 was delivered to Varig as PP-VPN. Varig was founded in 1927 and ceased operations in 2006. The former member of the Star Alliance was headquartered in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The name is short for Viacao Aerea Rio Grandense.

In June, 2004, the conversion to a freighter began. N574FE entered service for FedEx on July 1, 2005. This is one of 57 McDonnell Douglas MD-11F aircraft in the FedEx fleet and the airplane is named ‘Bryce’.

Back on September 18, 2010, N574FE had a bit of a problem at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). A Boeing 777 had to reject a takeoff after the FedEx plane apparently landed out of turn.
