N712US first took flight on June 3, 1999. The Airbus A319-112 was delivered to US Airways on June 28, 1999. On April 8, 2015, the A319 was transferred to American Airlines.

This aircraft is configured for a maximum total of 128 passengers. There are eight seats in business class and 120 more in economy. The smallest model in the main fleet of this airline, N712US is the 13 oldest in a fleet of 133 A319’s.

Airbus A319-100

The maiden flight of the Airbus A319-100 occurred on August 25, 1995 with the aircraft introduced with launch customer Swissair in 1996. The shortened version of the Airbus A320-200, the A319 is 34 metres or 111 feet in length with a wingspan of 36 metres or 118 feet. At the tail, the airplane is 12 metres or 39 feet in height. The flight range is 6,950 kilometres.

American Airlines

The airline was founded in 1926 as American Airways and commenced operations under the American Airlines name in 1936. Headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas, the airline has a main fleet of 950 airplanes flying to 350 destinations in more than 50 countries around the world.

American Airlines has a fleet led in size by the Boeing 777-300ER. They are the largest operator in the world of the Airbus A320 Family and have the world’s largest fleet of Airbus A321-200 aircraft.

The airline is a founding member of the Oneworld Alliance. Other founding members include British Airways, Cathay Pacific, Qantas and the now defunct Canadian Airlines. Oneworld was founded in 1999 and is headquartered in New York City.
