OK-TVF

OK-TVF performed its maiden flight on April 8, 2005 and was delivered to Travel Service on April 20, 2005. The Boeing 737-8FH was seasonally leased to Sunwing Airlines from 2011 to early 2017 as C-GTVF. The airliner is configured for a maximum total of 189 passengers, all in a single class system.

Prior to coming over to Air Transat on November 21, 2017, the airliner was leased for a month to Israir. Israir began as Knafei HaEmek in 1989 with the name change coming in 1996. That airline, headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel, has a fleet of five aircraft (3 Airbus A320-200 and 2 ATR 72-500).

On March 10, 2011, OK-TVF was flying for Travel Service form Warsaw, Poland to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The Boeing 737-800 had to make a refueling stop at Terceira-Lajes in the Azores. On landing, the aircraft struck runway lights, causing damage to the airplane. This would just add to the horror of flying that long of a distance on any variant of 737.

Boeing 737-800

The most popular variant in the Boeing 737 Next Generation Family with over 4,500 delivered, the Boeing 737-800 first entered service in 1998 with what is now TUIfly. The direct competitor to the Airbus A320-200, the B738 is 40 metres or 130 feet in length with a wingspan of 36 metres or 118 feet. At the tail, the aircraft stands 13 metres or 41 feet in height. The flight range is 5,436 kilometres.

Air Transat

Air Transat commenced operations in 1987 and is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec. The airline has a fleet of 49 aircraft, with that number fluctuating seasonally, flying to over 60 destinations. The largest in the fleet is the Airbus A330-300 while the smallest are seasonally leased Boeing 737-700 models. Their classic Airbus A310-300 airliners will be replaced in 2019 by Airbus A321LR models.
