PH-BQM

PH-BQM performed its maiden flight on March 30, 2006 and was delivered to KLM on April 10, 2006. The Boeing 777-206ER is named Machu Picchu. You’ll find that moniker printed on the side of the airplane, just below the SkyTeam logo, below the cockpit side window.

The airliner is configured for a maximum total of 316 passengers with 34 seats in business class, 40 more in premium economy and 242 seats in economy class. This is one of seven B772 models under the KLM Asia name and one of 15 in the whole KLM Royal Dutch Airlines fleet.

Boeing 777-200ER

The first Boeing 777-200ER was introduced with British Airways in 1997. The ER is for extended range and this variant can fly 3,400 more kilometres in a single flight than the base Boeing 777-200. The flight range of 13,080 is still nearly 3,000 KM less that the Boeing 777-200LR.

The B772 is 64 metres or 209 feet in length with a wingspan of 61 metres or 200 feet. At the tail, the aircraft stands 19 metres or 61 feet in height.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij, or KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, was founded on October 7, 1919 and is the oldest airline in the world still operating under its original name. Headquartered in Amstelveen, Netherlands, the airline has a main fleet of nearly 120 aircraft flying to 145 destinations around the world.

KLM merged with Air France in 2004 and is a member of the SkyTeam Alliance. The Dutch airline joined SkyTeam in 2004, four years after the alliance was founded. Now, there are 20 full member airlines worldwide.
