The SkyTeam Alliance was established in June, 2000. There are now 20 full member airlines and the alliance is headquartered on the grounds of Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in Haarlemmermeer, Netherlands. Founding members include AeroMexico, Air France, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air.

Aeroflot
Aeroflot joined the SkyTeam Alliance on April 14, 2006. The Russian airline was founded and commenced operations in 1923. Headquartered in Moscow, Russia, Aeroflot has a fleet of 210 aircraft flying to 129 destinations around the world. The largest airliner in the fleet is the Boeing 777-300ER. However, there are 14 Airbus A350-900 models on order.
Aerolineas Argentinas
Aerolineas Argentinas joined the alliance on August 29, 2012. The airline was founded on May 14, 1949 and commenced operations on December 7, 1950. Headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the airline is owned by the Argentine Government. Aerolineas Argentinas has a fleet of 54 aircraft flying to 58 destinations. The largest in the fleet is the Airbus A340-300.
AeroMexico
AeroMexico is a founding member of the SkyTeam Alliance, joining on June 22, 2000. The airline was founded and commenced operations as AeroMexico on October 1, 1988 but dates back to 1934 as Aeronaves de Mexico. Headquartered in Mexico City, the airline has a fleet of 72 aircraft flying to 92 destinations. An airline on the grow, AeroMexico has 69 aircraft on order. Currently, the largest in the fleet is a toss up between the Boeing 777-200ER and the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
Air Europa
Air Europa joined the SkyTeam Alliance on September 4, 2007. The airline was founded in 1986 and is the third largest airline in Spain. Headquartered in Llucmajor, Mallorca, Spain, Air Europa has a fleet of 45 aircraft flying to 44 destinations. The largest in the fleet is the Airbus A330-300 with those aircraft to be replaced in the near future by the Boeing 787-9.
Air France
Air France is another founding member of the SkyTeam Alliance, joining on June 22, 2000. The airline was founded on October 7, 1933 and has a fleet of 225 aircraft flying to 204 destinations around the world. On May 5, 2004, Air France merged with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines with both airlines retaining their individual identities. Headquartered at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport in Tremblay-En-France, the largest airliner in the fleet is the Airbus A380-800.
Alitalia
Alitalia joined the alliance on January 13, 2009. The Italian airline was originally founded on March 12, 1999 as Trattamenti Temici Solbiate and was founded as Alitalia on January 12, 2009. With a history of troubled existence, the airline filed for bankruptcy on May 2, 2017 but continues to operate. Headquartered in Fiumicino, Rome, Italy, Alitalia has a fleet of 106 aircraft flying to 94 destinations. The largest in the fleet is the Boeing 777-300ER. However, they have just one and that airliner is in storage. Next up is the Boeing 777-200ER.
China Airlines
China Airlines joined SkyTeam on September 28, 2011. The Taiwanese airline was founded on December 16, 1959 and is headquartered in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. China Airlines has a fleet of 84 aircraft flying to 103 destinations, including their cargo division. The largest in the fleet is the Boeing 747-400.
China Eastern Airlines
China Eastern Airlines joined the alliance on June 21, 2011. CE Air was founded on June 25, 1988 and has a fleet of 481 airliners flying to 217 destinations around the world. Headquartered at Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport in Shanghai, China, the airline’s largest aircraft is the Boeing 777-300ER.
China Southern Airlines
China Southern Airlines joined on November 15, 2007. The airline was founded on July 1, 1988 and has a fleet of 543 aircraft flying to 208 destinations. Headquartered in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, the airline has five Airbus A380-800 airliners, the largest in the fleet.

Czech Airlines
Czech Airlines joined the SkyTeam Alliance on March 25, 2001. The Czech Republic airline was founded on October 6, 1923 and has a fleet of 18 aircraft flying to 50 destinations. Headquartered in Prague, Czech Republic, Czech Airlines has a single Airbus A330-300 as the largest airplane in the fleet. That Airbus A330-300 is leased from Korean Air.
Delta Air Lines
Delta Air Lines was a founding member of the SkyTeam Alliance when the group was formed on June 22, 2000. The airline was first founded on May 30, 1924 as Huff Daland Dusters. They commenced operations as Delta on June 17, 1929. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, Delta Air Lines has a massive fleet of 855 airplanes flying to 319 destinations. The largest in the fleet will be the Airbus A350-900 after their Boeing 747-400 models have been phased out by the end of 2017.
Garuda Indonesia
Garuda Indonesia joined the alliance on March 5, 2014. The airline was founded on August 1, 1947 as KLM Interinsulair Bedrijf. They commenced as Garuda Indonesian Airways on January 26, 1949. Headquartered at Soekama-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia, Garuda has a fleet of 144 airplanes flying to 133 destinations. The largest in the fleet is the Boeing 777-300ER.
Kenya Airways
Kenya Airways joined SkyTeam on September 4, 2007. The Kenyan airline was founded and commenced operations in 1977. Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, the airline has a fleet of 34 aircraft flying to 62 destinations. The largest in the fleet is the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines joined the alliance on September 13, 2004. KLM was founded on October 7, 1919 and has a fleet of 116 aircraft flying to 145 destinations. Headquartered in Amstelveen, Netherlands, KLM merged with Air France on May 5, 2004. The largest in the fleet is mixed between the Boeing 747-400 and Boeing 777-300ER.

Korean Air
Korean Air is a founding member, joining on June 22, 2000. The airline was founded in 1946 as Korean National Airlines. Headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, the airline has a fleet of 170 airliners flying to 127 destinations. The largest in the fleet is the Airbus A380-800.
Middle East Airlines
Middle East Airlines joined on June 28, 2012. The Lebanese airline was founded on May 31, 1945 and commenced operations on January 1, 1946. Headquartered in Beirut, Lebanon, the airline has a fleet of 20 aircraft flying to 31 destinations. The largest in the fleet is the Airbus A330-200.
Saudia
Saudia joined the SkyTeam Alliance on May 29, 2012. The airline was founded in September, 1945 and has a fleet of 191 aircraft flying to 127 destinations around the world. Owned by the Government of Saudi Arabia, Saudia is headquartered in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The largest airplane in the fleet is the Boeing 777-300ER.
TAROM
TAROM joined on June 25, 2010. The Romanian airlines was founded on September 18, 1954. Headquartered in Otopeni, Romania, TAROM has a fleet of 23 aircraft flying to 50 destinations. The largest airplane in the fleet is the Boeing 737-800.
Vietnam Airlines
Vietnam Airlines joined the alliance on June 10, 2010. The airline was founded on January 15, 1956 and has a fleet of 84 aircraft flying to 52 destinations. Headquartered in Hanoi, Vietnam, the airline’s largest airplanes include the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and the Airbus A350-900.
Xiamen Airlines
Xiamen Airlines joined the SkyTeam Alliance on November 21, 2012. The Chinese airline was founded in July 25, 1984 and is 55% owned by China Southern Airlines. Xiamen Airlines has a fleet of 157 aircraft flying to 70 destinations. The airline is headquartered in Xiamen, China and their largest aircraft is the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
