B-LJF performed its first fight on December 1, 2011. The Boeing 747-867f was delivered to Cathay Pacific Cargo on December 12, 2011. This is one of 14 B748 models in the cargo division of this airline. There are also six Boeing 747-400erf models to bring to fleet total to 20.

Boeing 747-8f

The first flight of a Boeing 747-8f was on February 8, 2010. The aircraft was launched with CargoLux on October 12, 2011. As of the end of 2019, there have been 138 of these jumbo freighters built.

The aircraft has a length of 250 feet or 76.3 metres, nearly 20 feet longer than a Boeing 747-400. The wingspan is 225 feet or 68.4 metres and the height at the tail is 63.5 feet or 19.4 metres.

The flight range for this airplane is 7,630 kilometres, about half of the Boeing 747-8 passenger version. The cargo capacity is 303,700 lbs. or 137,700 kilograms.

Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific was founded on September 24, 1946 and is headquartered at Cathay City on the grounds of Hong Kong International Airport in Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong. The airline has a main fleet of over 130 aircraft flying to nearly 80 destinations around the world.

The largest in the fleet is the Boeing 777-300ER. However, they do have 21 Boeing 777-9 models on order. Cathay Pacific is a founding member of the Oneworld Alliance. Other founding members include American Airlines, British Airways, Qantas and the now defunct Canadian Airlines. The alliance was founded in February, 1999 and now has 13 full members worldwide.
