Ethiopian Airlines was founded in 1945 and commenced operations in 1946. The member of the Star Alliance is fully owned by the Government of Ethiopia. The airline is headquartered at Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa.
The fleet consists of nearly 130 aircraft. The largest is the Boeing 777-300ER. The smallest and most numerous is the De Havilland Dash 8 Q400. Ethiopian Airlines flies to 125 destinations around the world.
