C-FGKZ

C-FGKZ performed its maiden flight on February 4, 2008 and was first delivered to Air France on February 18, 2008 as F-GTAR. Air France is down to just eleven Airbus A321-200 models in their main fleet, along with five Airbus A321-100 variants. Just 90 of the -100 model were ever produced.

C-FGKZ is much roomier now that it is with Air Canada. The Airbus A321-211 is configured for a maximum total of 190 passengers with 16 seats in business class and 174 economy class seats. An Air France A321 is either configured for 212 or 200 passengers.

The A321-200 came to Air Canada on June 9, 2015. It is one of 15 in the main fleet with more flying with subsidiary Air Canada Rouge.

Airbus A321-200

The Airbus A321-200 is a stretched version of the Airbus A320, the initial variant in the Airbus A320 Family. The A321 is 45 metres or 146 feet in length, 23 feet longer than the A320. The first A321-100 was introduced with Lufthansa in March, 1994 with just 90 of that variant built. The first A321-200 entered service with launch customer Monarch Airlines in April, 1997. Since 1992, nearly 1,500 have been built.

The wingspan of the airliner is 36 metres or 118 feet while the height at the tail is 12 metres or 39 feet. The flight range is 5,950 kilometres. The airplane is a direct competitor to the Boeing 737-900ER.

Air Canada

Founded in 1937 as Trans Canada Air Lines, the Canadian airline officially became Air Canada on January 1, 1965. Headquartered at the Air Canada Centre on the grounds of Montreal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) in Dorval, Quebec, the airline now has a main fleet of around 175 aircraft flying to over 200 destinations. With subsidiaries included, those numbers increase to over 400 aircraft flying to 350 destinations.

Air Canada is a founding member of the Star Alliance. Other founding members include Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Thai Airways and United Airlines. The alliance now has 27 full member airlines around the world.
