C-FMWV has been in the Air Canada family since 1995 with the Boeing 767-300ER moving to subsidiary Rouge in 2014. We photographed this B763 on August 1, 2019 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

C-FMWV
C-FMWV performed its first flight on November 21, 1995. The Boeing 767-333ER was delivered to Air Canada on December 8, 1995. This B763 was transferred to Air Canada Rouge on March 27, 2014.
The aircraft is configured for a maximum total of 282 passengers. There are 24 seats in business class and 258 economy class seats. This is one of 25 Boeing 767-300ER models in the Rouge fleet.
On March 10, 2013, this airplane was flying from Montreal, Quebec to Geneva, Switzerland. On final approach to the destination, a bird strike caused a large dent in the nose dome. However, the airliner continued for a safe landing.
Not long after joining Rouge, on September 19, 2014, this B763 was flying from Toronto, Ontario to Las Vegas, Nevada. The aircraft had to divert to Denver, Colorado on route after low oil quantities in the left side engine. The engine was shut down and the airplane landed safely with just one engine. The cause was determined to be a damaged o-ring. C-FMWY was brought in to continue the flight.
On August 26, 2018, it was the right side engine’s turn to have issues. On a flight from Vancouver, British Columbia to Dublin, Ireland, the initial climb was stopped after 10,000 feet. The reason was a loud bang heard from the right engine, followed by a loss of power and abnormal engine indications.
An emergency was declared and the airplane returned to YVR for a safe landing. Debris was found on the runway and extensive damage was done to the turbine blades.

Boeing 767-300ER
The first Boeing 767-300ER was introduced with launch customer American Airlines in 1988, seven years after the initial 767 variant entered service with United Airlines in 1981. A direct competitor to the Airbus A330-200, 583 were delivered, in all.
The B763 is 55 metres or 180 feet in length with a wingspan of 48 metres or 156 feet. At the tail, the airliner stands 16 metres or 52 feet in height. The flight range is 11,070 kilometres.
Air Canada Rouge
Air Canada Rouge was founded in December, 2012 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Canada. The brand has a fleet of over 60 aircraft flying to 50 destinations. Prior to March, 2020, there were 25 Boeing 767-300ER, 22 Airbus A319-100, four Airbus A320-200 and 14 Airbus A321-200 models.
The airline announced at the start of May, 2020 that all Boeing 767 and Airbus A319 aircraft would be retired, a result of the COVID-19 fallout. This leaves the brand with just 18 airlines, all either Airbus A321-200 or Airbus A320-200. Through the main airline, Rouge is a member of the Star Alliance.
