C-GTSN

C-GTSN took its first flight on November 8, 2000 and was delivered to Edelweiss Air on November 17, 2000 as HB-IQZ. That airline named the airplane Bahari. Edelweiss Air was founded on October 19, 1995 and is headquartered in Kloten, Switzerland. Currently, they have a fleet of 13 aircraft (Airbus A340-300, Airbus A330-300 and Airbus A320-200) flying to 64 destinations.

On November 17, 2010, the Airbus A330-243 was delivered to Air Transat as C-GTSN. Since, the aircraft has been seasonally leased to European airlines XL Airways France, Travel Service Poland and Condor. The airliner is configured for a maximum total of 245 passengers with 12 seats in business class and 333 economy class seats.

Back on October 5, 2003, flying for Edelweiss, HB-IQZ had some issues of a flight that should have went from Miami, Florida to Zurich, Switzerland. On the climb out of Miami, an emergency was declared as the aircraft reached an altitude of 23,000 feet. The number 1 engine had failed. The A332 diverted back to Miami for a safe landing. It turns out, carbon buildup in a vent tube led to a fire in the engine that caused the turbine blades to break free.

The Airbus A330-200 followed the Airbus A330-300 and is a shortened version of that variant. The first A332 entered service with Korean Air in 1998. The aircraft is 59 metres or 193 feet in length, 16 feet shorter than the A333. The wingspan is 60 metres or 198 feet and the airline stands 17 metres or 57 feet in height at the tail. The flight range is 13,450 kilometres, over 1,500 KM more than the Airbus A330-300.

Air Transat

Air Transat commenced operations in 1987 and is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The airline has a fleet of nearly 50 aircraft (fluctuating seasonally) flying to over 60 destinations. The largest in the fleet is the Airbus A330-300. Arriving in 2019 are Airbus A321LR models, to replace their classic fleet of Airbus A310-300 aircraft.
