We weren’t expected to see C-FPLS at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) on an early Tuesday morning. This brand of WestJet normally flies into nearby John C. Munro International Airport in Hamilton, Ontario. We photographed this Boeing 737-800 on March 3, 2020.

C-FPLS
C-FPLS performed its maiden flight on April 28, 2015. The Boeing 737-8CT was delivered to WestJet Airlines on May 8, 2015. On June 14, 2018, the Canadian airline transferred this B738 to ultra low cost brand Swoop.
We previously featured this Boeing 737-800 at the site when it was with the mainline WestJet fleet. In fact, it was included somewhere in the first 20 aircraft we featured. Check out that article here.

Swoop
Swoop was founded in 2017. The ultra low cost carrier commenced operations on June 20, 2018. The brand is fully owned by WestJet Airlines. Swoop is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
The airline has a fleet of 13 aircraft, with a mix of Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737 MAX 8 models. They travel over 30 destinations in Canada, Mexico, the United States and the Caribbean. The main hubs for this airline are Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and Edmonton International Airport (YEG).
