In service since 1991, C-FPWD started out with Canadian Airlines. After that airline was acquired by Air Canada in 2001, this Airbus A320-200 has flown with the main fleet, as well as under brands Air Canada Tango and Air Canada Jetz. We photographed the A320 on August 11, 2018 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

C-FPWD
C-FPWD performed its first flight on July 5, 1991 and was delivered to Canadian Airlines on August 30, 1991. On April 4, 2001, the Airbus A320-211 was transferred to Air Canada. Through the years, the A320 wore the livery of brands Air Canada Tango and Air Canada Jetz. The aircraft has been back with the main fleet since January 1, 2014.
One of 42 Airbus A320-200 airliners in the main fleet, C-FPWD is configured for a maximum total of 146 passengers. There are 14 seats in business class, 36 more in premium economy and 96 economy class seats.
On November 23, 2014, the Airbus A320 was flying to Halifax, Nova Scotia from Toronto, Ontario. On approach to Halifax, the crew experienced problems with the flaps with the slats remaining in the fully retracted position. The aircraft landed safely at a faster than normal speed. As a result, the slat actuator 7R was replaced.
On July 14, 2015, C-FPWD was flying from Winnipeg, Manitoba to Toronto, Ontario. On the climb out of Winnipeg, at 31,000 feet, the green hydraulic system failed. The climb was halted and it was determined that the airplane had no nose wheel steering. The A320 was diverted back to YWG for a safe landing, although leaving a mess of hydraulic fluid all over the runway.
Airbus A320-200
The initial variant in the Airbus A320 Family, the Airbus A320-200 was introduced with launch customer Air France in 1988. Since, nearly 4,400 have been delivered. The airliner is 38 metres or 123 feet in length with a wingspan of 36 metres or 118 feet. At the tail, the airplane is 12 metres or 39 feet in height. The flight range is 6,100 kilometres.
Air Canada
Air Canada was founded as Trans Canada Air Lines in 1937. The name was officially switched on January 1, 1965. There are nearly 190 aircraft in the main fleet with over 400 when subsidiaries are included. The largest in the fleet is the Boeing 777-300ER. The airline flies to close to 210 destinations around the world (350 with subsidiaries included).
Headquartered at the Air Canada Centre on the grounds of Montreal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) in Dorval, Quebec, the airline is a founding member of the Star Alliance. Other founding members include Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Thai Airways and United Airlines. There are now 27 full member airlines worldwide.
