C-FXMS is the third to last Boeing 737-800 model added to the main WestJet Airlines fleet. Since, the Canadian airline has gone to the newer and more efficient Boeing 737 MAX 8. We photographed this B738 on February 17, 2018 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

C-FXMS
C-FXMS performed its maiden flight on December 7, 2016 and was delivered to WestJet Airlines on December 15, 2016. This Boeing 737-8CT is configured for a maximum total of 168 passengers with 12 seats in premium economy and 156 economy class seats.
As mentioned, this is the third newest Boeing 737-800 in the main WestJet fleet (not including ultra low cost subsidiary Swoop). Just two more were delivered in 2017 before the airline went with the Boeing 737 MAX 8 model. This is one of 42 B738 aircraft in the main fleet.
Boeing 737-800
The most popular variant in the Boeing 737 Next Generation Family, there have been over 4,500 Boeing 737-800 models delivered to airlines around the world. The first B738 entered service in 1998. The aircraft is a direct competitor to the Airbus A320-200.
The Boeing 737-800 is 40 metres or 130 feet in length with a wingspan of 36 metres or 118 feet. At the tail, the airplane stands 13 metres or 41 feet in height. The flight range is 5,436 kilometres.
WestJet Airlines
Founded in 1996, WestJet is headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. The Canadian airline has a fleet of around 125 aircraft but that number will grow to around 180 in the near future. WestJet flies to nearly 110 destinations in Canada, the United States, Europe, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
Not included in the above numbers are subsidiary WestJet Encore. That regional carrier flies a fleet of Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft. Also not included is new ultra low cost carrier subsidiary Swoop. Swoop began service in June, 2018 with a small fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft. With subsidiaries included, the fleet is nearly 175 strong.
