C-FZUG has had its fair share of incidents over the years. Most recently, the Airbus A319-100 had engine trouble in April, 2019. We photographed this Air Canada Rouge A319 on August 25, 2019 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

C-FZUG
C-FZUG performed its maiden flight on July 11, 1997. The Airbus A319-113 was delivered to Air Canada on August 22, 1997. The A319 was transferred to Air Canada Rouge on February 2, 2014.
This is one of 22 Airbus A319-100 models in the Rouge fleet, all formerly with the mainline of this Canadian airline. The airliner is configured for a maximum total of 136 passengers. There are 12 seats in premium and 124 economy class seats.
On May 30, 2012, the aircraft was flying from Toronto, Ontario to Calgary, Alberta. Just after reaching 36,000 feet, their was a low fluid indication in the yellow hydraulic system. After more problems with the hydraulics and flight controls, it was decided to divert to Winnipeg, Manitoba.
On approach to YWG, the flaps would not extend past position 1 and the hydraulic fluid was showing hot. After aborting the initial landing attempt, the airplane came in for a safe landing on the second. The higher than normal landing speed and subsequent heating of the braking system caused the outboard right side tire to deflate. It was necessary for the passengers to disembark on the runway and be bussed to the terminal.
All this was caused by a fault O-rig in the PTU (power transfer unit) manifold and the PTU switch in the cockpit.
On a flight from Toronto to Holguin, Cuba, turbulence enroute caused a flight attendant to get injured by a moving trolley. The flight was administered first aid and removed from duties. The flight continued to Holguin for a safe landing.
Most recently, on April 14, 2019, C-FZUG was flying from Miami, Florida to Montreal, Quebec. Just before reaching the top of the descent, the left side engine showed signs of a compressor stall with vibrations developing. The flight continued to YUL. On descent, the engine seemed to return to normal. After a safe landing, the fuel pump and hydro mechanical unit were replaced.

Airbus A319-100
The maiden flight of the Airbus A319-100 occurred on August 25, 1995 with the aircraft introduced with launch customer Swissair in 1996. The shortened version of the Airbus A320-200, the A319 is 34 metres or 111 feet in length with a wingspan of 36 metres or 118 feet. At the tail, the airplane is 12 metres or 39 feet in height. The flight range is 6,950 kilometres.
Air Canada Rouge
Air Canada Rouge was founded in December, 2012 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Canada. The brand has a fleet of over 60 aircraft flying to 50 destinations. Prior to March, 2020, there were 25 Boeing 767-300ER, 22 Airbus A319-100, four Airbus A320-200 and 14 Airbus A321-200 models.
The airline announced at the start of May, 2020 that all Boeing 767 and Airbus A319 aircraft would be retired, a result of the COVID-19 fallout. This leaves the brand with just 18 airlines, all either Airbus A321-200 or Airbus A320-200. Through the main airline, Rouge is a member of the Star Alliance.
