C-GBHM
C-GBHM performed its maiden flight on December 23, 1997 and was delivered to Air Canada a month later on January 22, 1998. As mentioned, the Airbus A319-114 is one of 14 in the main fleet with three others flying for VIP charter Air Canada Jetz and 21 in service for Air Canada Rouge. The Airliner is configured for a maximum total of 120 passengers with 14 seats in business class and 106 economy class seats.
An aircraft with an outstanding record, C-GBHM did have some issues back on January 17, 2009. On a flight that should have gone from New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) to Vancouver, British Columbia (YVR), the airplane experienced problems with the landing gear. After takeoff from JFK, crew received a ‘landing gear unsafe’ message and indications that the landing gear doors may have remained open. The flight was diverted to Toronto Pearson International Airport for a safe landing. The issue was resolved after the nose landing gear uplock actuator was replaced.
