The largest in the Air Canada Rouge fleet, C-GEOU began life back in 1999 with the now defunct Canadian Airlines. We photographed this Boeing 767-300ER on April 17, 2019 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

C-GEOU

C-GEOU performed its maiden flight on October 19, 1999. The Boeing 767-375ER was first delivered to Canadian Airlines on November 18, 1999. After that airline was taken over by Air Canada, this B763 was transferred to AC’s main fleet on March 29, 2001. On February 8, 2017, the aircraft was moved to the Air Canada Rouge fleet.

This is one of 25 Boeing 767-300ER airliners in the Rouge fleet. The airplane is configured for a maximum total of 282 passengers. There are 24 seats in premium economy and 258 economy class seats.

On September 25, 2016, C-GEOU was flying from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Toronto, Ontario. 170 miles out of Sao Paulo, cruising at 32,000 feet, an acrid odour was identified in the cockpit. It was decided to divert back to the point of origin. After a safe landing, it was determined that the culprit was the right side cockpit window #1 terminal block connector. As a result, the window and window heat controller were replaced. After a delay of 38 hours, the airplane reached its destination.

The B763 is 55 metres or 180 feet in length with a wingspan of 48 metres or 156 feet. At the tail, the airliner stands 16 metres or 52 feet in height. The flight range is 11,070 kilometres.

Air Canada Rouge

Air Canada Rouge was founded in December, 2012 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Air Canada. The brand has a fleet of over 60 aircraft flying to 50 destinations. Prior to March, 2020, there were 25 Boeing 767-300ER, 22 Airbus A319-100, four Airbus A320-200 and 14 Airbus A321-200 models.

The airline announced at the start of May, 2020 that all Boeing 767 and Airbus A319 aircraft would be retired, a result of the COVID-19 fallout. This leaves the brand with just 18 airlines, all either Airbus A321-200 or Airbus A320-200. Through the main airline, Rouge is a member of the Star Alliance.
