C-GUBL, the 12th of 16 Air Transat Airbus A330-200 aircraft to be featured at It’s About Airplanes. This airliner started life with China Eastern Airlines back in 2006 and joined Air Transat in 2018. We photographed this A332 on December 28, 2019 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

C-GUBL
C-GUBL performed its first flight on January 17, 2006. The Airbus A330-243 was delivered to China Eastern Airlines on March 1, 2006 as B-6121. The A332 flew with this Chinese airline until October, 2017.
The Airliner was then delivered to Air Transat on March 29, 2018. Starting October 24, 2018, this Airbus A330-200 was leased to Thomas Cook / Condor, returning to Canada on May 2, 2019.
This airplane is configured for a maximum total of 345 passengers. There are 12 seats in business class and 333 economy class seats. This is one of 16 A332 models in the fleet.
On March 15, 2019, flying for Condor, G-TCCI was performing a flight from Frankfurt, Germany to Veradero, Cuba. Cruising at 36,000 feet, over the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Spain, crew received an indication that there was smoke on board. The flight was diverted to Santiago de Compostela, Spain for a safe landing.

Airbus A330-200
The Airbus A330-200 followed the Airbus A330-300 and is a shortened version of that variant. The first A332 entered service with Korean Air in 1998. The aircraft is 59 metres or 193 feet in length, 16 feet shorter than the A333. The wingspan is 60 metres or 198 feet and the airline stands 17 metres or 57 feet in height at the tail. The flight range is 13,450 kilometres, over 1,500 KM more than the Airbus A330-300.
Air Transat
Air Transat commenced operations in 1987 and is headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The airline has a fleet of 31 aircraft flying to nearly 80 destinations. The largest in the fleet is the Airbus A330-300.
As of May, 2019, the airline was to be purchased by Air Canada. The acquisition was scapped in April, 2021.
