It’s always pleasant to see the green of Aer Lingus coming into Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). EI-GCF is new to the friendly skies. The Airbus A330-300 took its maiden flight in September and entered service with the Irish airline in late November. We photographed EI-GCF while plane spotting on April 20, 2018.

The Airbus A330-302 is named St. Aengus and is currently one of eight A333 aircraft in the fleet of the Irish airline. Airbus A330-300
The initial variant of the Airbus A330 Family, the Airbus A330-300 took its maiden flight in November, 1992. The first A333 was introduced with launch customer Air Inter in January, 1994. Air Inter was a French airline that commenced operations in 1958 and ceased ops in 1997 when it was merged into Air France.
The Airbus A330-300 is 64 metres or 209 feet in length with a wingspan of 60 metres or 198 feet. At the tail, the airliner stands 17 metres or 55 feet in height. The flight range is 11,750 kilometres.
Aer Lingus
Now under the ownership of the International Airlines Group, the same group that owns British Airways, Vueling and Iberia, Aer Lingus was founded and commenced operations in 1936. The Irish airline is headquartered in Dublin, Ireland on the grounds of the Dublin Airport (DUB). The airline has survived three separate takeover attempts by ultra low cost carrier Ryanair.
Aer Lingus has a fleet of nearly 50 aircraft flying to close to 100 destinations. The Airbus A330-300 is currently the largest in the fleet but there are Airbus A350-900 variants on order. The airline was once a member of the Oneworld Alliance but left in 2007.
