F-HRBD: Air France Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner (Just A Baby)

Just a baby, barely out of the factory, F-HRBD was was delivered to Air France in mid November, 2017. We photographed the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on February 24, 2018 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ). The photos in the gallery below were taken with a Canon Rebel T6i digital camera.

F-HRBD

F-HRBD performed its maiden flight on October 30, 2017 and was delivered to Air France on November 14, 2017. The Boeing 787-9 is just one of five B789 aircraft currently in the fleet with 12 more on order for future deliveries. This airliner is configured for a maximum total of 276 passengers with 30 seats in business class, 21 more in premium economy and 225 economy class seats.

Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner


The first B789 took flight on September 17, 2013 and first entered service with Air New Zealand on July 8, 2014. This aircraft is 63 metres or 206 feet in length, 20 feet longer than the initial Boeing 787-8 variant. Both models share the same 60 metre or 197 foot wingspan. At the tail, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner stands 17 metres or 56 feet in height.

Air France

Founded in 1933, Air France is headquartered on the grounds of Charles de Gaulle Airport in Tremblay-en-France. In 2003, the French airline merged with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Air France has a main fleet of nearly 215 airliners flying to over 210 destinations around the world. The fleet is led by the Airbus A380-800. They are the largest operator of the Airbus A318-100 and are the launch customer of the Boeing 777-300ER.

Air France is a founding member of the SkyTeam Alliance. Other founding members include AeroMexico, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air. The alliance was founded in 2000, has 20 full members and is headquartered at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in Haarlemmermeer, Netherlands.
