G-ZBKM
G-ZBKM performed its maiden flight on July 14, 2016. The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner was delivered to British Airways on July 29, 2016. This B789 is configured for a maximum total of 216 passengers. There are eight seats in first class, 42 more in business class, 39 seats in premium economy and 127 economy class seats. This is one of 18 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft in the fleet.
On March 24, 2017, G-ZBKM was flying from London, England to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. Cruising at 37,000 feet, just west of Frankfurt, Germany, crew first reported smoke in the cockpit but then corrected that it was in the forward galley. The flight was diverted to Frankfurt for a safe landing. A replacement B789 (G-ZBKG) was brought in to continue the flight.
