UR-GEA spent the first decade and half of its life in the skies flying for United Airlines. The Boeing 767-300ER started flying in 1991 and is now slated to be phased out by Ukraine International Airlines in the next year or so. We photographed this B763 on October 5, 2019 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

UR-GEA
UR-GEA performed its maiden flight on September 4, 1991. The Boeing 767-322ER was first delivered to United Airlines on September 24, 1991 as N645UA.
After a length career with United, the aircraft moved on to Air Sahara on December 10, 2005 as VT-SDL. That airline commenced operations in 1993 and was bought out by India based Jet Airways in 2007. Air Sahara was then renamed JetLite. That airline and its parent company have been temporarily suspended since April 17, 2019.
About the time that the above buyout occurred, this airliner was delivered to Oceanair on May 1, 2007 as PR-ONA. Life with that airline didn’t last long. Between 2009 and 2013, the Boeing 767-300ER flew as UR-DNM with Dniproavia and Aerosvit in the Ukraine. It became a member of the Ukraine International Airlines fleet on August 28, 2013.
This airplane is configured for a maximum total of 261 passengers. There are 12 seats in business class, 38 more in premium economy and 211 economy class seats. This is one of four B763 models in the fleet. All are to be phased out by the end of 2020.
On March 1, 2016, UR-GEA was flying from Kiev, Ukraine to Tel Aviv, Israel. Flying at 35,000 feet, about 180 miles south of Kiev, it was noticed the right side cockpit windshield was cracked. It was decided to divert the flight back to Kiev. A replacement, UR-GED, was brought in to continue the flight.
