In all, Air Canada has 38 Airbus A319-100 aircraft but just 15 of those are in the main fleet. There are three more under the Air Canada Jetz brand and 20 with Air Canada Rouge. We photographed C-GAQZ while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) on April 20, 2018.

C-GAQZ
C-GAQZ performed its maiden flight on October 14, 1997 and was delivered to Air Canada on November 3, 1997. The Airbus A319-114 is one of 15 in the airline’s main fleet. The aircraft is configured for a maximum total of 120 passengers with 14 seats in business class and 106 economy class seats.
2012 ended up not being the end of the world but it was a rough one for C-GAQZ. On April 12, 2012, the Airbus A319-100 was flying from Toronto, Ontario to Vancouver, British Columbia. On approach to YVR, the captain became incapacitated. The first officer took over and landed the aircraft safely.
On June 1, 2012, the A319 was flying from Montreal, Quebec to Toronto. However, the takeoff was rejected due to a indication there was an issue with the right side engine. As a result, the inboard variable stator vane actuator was replaced.
Later in the year, on September 22, 2012, C-GAQZ was to fly from Los Angeles, California to Montreal. On the initial climb out of LAX, the crew received a ‘aft cargo smoke’ indication followed by a ‘smoke detector fault’ indication. The climb was stopped and the aircraft returned to Los Angeles for a safe landing. As a result, the smoke detection control unit was replaced.

The airliner is 34 metres or 111 feet in length with a wingspan of 36 metres or 118 feet. At the tail, the airplane is 12 metres or 39 feet in height. The flight range is 6,950 kilometres.
