C-GHPT
C-GHPT performed its first flight on May 23, 2014. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner was delivered to Air Canada on June 16, 2014. This is one of eight B788 models in the fleet of this Canadian airline and the second oldest of those eight. All were delivered over a nine month span from mid 2014 to early 2015.
This airliner is configured for a maximum total of 255 passengers. There are 20 seats in business class, 21 more in premium economy and 214 economy class seats.
On February 3, 2016, this Boeing 787-8 was performing a flight from London, England to Calgary, Alberta. Cruising at 36,000 feet, just west of Dublin, Ireland, an electrical smell was detected in the cabin. It was decided to divert back to London for a safe landing. After four hours on the ground, the airliner once again departed for its destination.
