C-GIUF

C-GIUF performed its first flight on November 22, 2001 and was delivered to Air Canada on December 21, 2001. The Airbus A321-211 is configured for a maximum total of 190 passengers with 16 seats in business class and 174 economy class seats. As mentioned, this is one of 15 A321 airliners in the main Air Canada fleet with five more flying for subsidiary Air Canada Rouge.

On November 28, 2010, C-GIUF was flying from Vancouver, British Columbia to Calgary, Alberta. Climbing out of YVR, the crew received a smoke indication from the avionics bay. The aircraft leveled off and returned to Vancouver for a safe landing.

The A321 is 45 metres or 146 feet in length (23 feet longer than the A320) and has a wingspan of 36 metres or 118 feet. At the tail, the aircraft stands 12 metres or 39 feet in height. The flight range is 5,950 kilometres. In all, nearly 1,500 have entered service.
