C-GWSZ has been around since 2010 and painted as the WestJet Magic Plane since late 2013. Yet, I was just finally able to get some pictures of the Boeing 737-800. We photographed the B738 with a Canon Rebel T6i while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) on March 25, 2018. The trick now is to get images of the right side of the plane as the two sides are very subtly different.

C-GWSZ
C-GWSZ took its first flight on January 20, 2010 and was delivered to WestJet on February 5, 2010. This is one of 48 B738 aircraft in the main WestJet fleet and is configured for a maximum total of 168 passengers with 12 seats in premium economy and 156 more economy class seats.
The Boeing 737-8CT was painted in the Disney Magic Plane livery in December, 2013. The process took 26 painters 24 days, working 24 hours per day to complete the overhaul. There are 36 colours used. The initial flight with the new livery took the aircraft from Calgary, Alberta (home of WestJet) to Orlando, Florida (of course, home of Disney World).
Before it was the Magic Plane, C-GWSZ provided a rather annoying incident for crew and passengers. On May 16, 2010, the B738 was flying from Vancouver, British Columbia to Honolulu, Hawaii. Over the Pacific Ocean, about three and half hours into the flight (near the halfway point), the landing gear horn and overspeed warning horn sounded at the same time. No fault was found and they were able to deactivate the horns. However, a short time later, the fire bell began to sound. There was no fire but the bell could not be cancelled and rang for the remainder of the flight. An emergency was declared simply because the crew had difficulty communicating with the ground due to the fire bell. The cause was attributed to the aural alert module.
Boeing 737-800
By far the most popular variant of the Boeing 737 Next Generation Family, there have been over 4,500 Boeing 737-800 airliners delivered since the first was introduced in 1998. The direct competitor to the Airbus A320-200, the B738 is 40 metres or 130 feet in length with a wingspan of 36 metres or 118 feet. At the tail, the airliner stands 13 metres or 41 feet in height. The flight range for this airplane is 5,436 kilometres.
WestJet

They have recently taken their first deliveries of Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, Boeing 737 MAX 10 and Boeing 737 MAX 7 slated to be new additions in the future.
Regional subsidiary WestJet Encore flies a fleet of Bombardier Dash 8 Q400 aircraft. Ultra low cost carrier subsidiary Swoop will begin operations in June, 2018 with a small fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
