F-HRBF: Air France Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner (New In April, 2018)

f-hrbf air france boeing 787-9 dreamliner toronto pearson yyzWe were able to capture F-HRBF just 13 days after the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner was delivered to Air France. We photographed the B789 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) on April 20, 2018.

F-HRBF

F-HRBF took its maiden flight on March 24, 2018 and was delivered to Air France on April 7, 2018. This is now one of six Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft in the main Air France fleet with eleven more on order. This B789 is configured for a maximum total of 276 passengers with 30 seats in business class, 21 more in premium economy and 225 economy class seats.

Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner first took flight on September 17, 2013 with the first delivery to launch customer Air New Zealand on July 8, 2014. The initial 787-8 variant was introduced in October, 2011 with All Nippon Airways.

The B789 is 63 metres or 206 feet in length, 20 feet longer than the B788. The wingspan is 60 metres or 197 feet, a dimension shared with the initial variant and the height at the tail is 17 metres or 56 feet. The flight range is 14,140 kilometres, around 500 KM more than the Boeing 787-8.

Air France

Founded in 1933, Air France is headquartered on the grounds of Charles de Gaulle Airport in Tremblay-en-France. In 2003, the French airline merged with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Air France has a main fleet of nearly 220 airliners flying to over 200 destinations around the world. The fleet is led by the Airbus A380-800. They are the largest operator of the Airbus A318-100 and are the launch customer of the Boeing 777-300ER.

Air France is a founding member of the SkyTeam Alliance. Other founding members include AeroMexico, Delta Air Lines and Korean Air. The alliance was founded in 2000, has 20 full members and is headquartered at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol in Haarlemmermeer, Netherlands.
