This airplane moved on to join Air Canada Rouge as C-GHPJ in April, 2019. A year later, in April, 2020, it was put in storage by Air Canada due to the fallout of the COVID-19 lockdown.
TF-SON started its life in the skies with UTair, an airline out of Russia. Since 2016, the Airbus A321-200 has been in service for Iceland’s WOW air. We photographed TF-SON on July 10, 2018 while plane spotting at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ).

TF-SON
TF-SON performed its first flight on July 23, 2013 and was delivered to UTair on August 16, 2013 as VP-BPP. UTair was founded in 1967 as a subsidiary of Aeroflot with the change to its current name coming in 2003. The airline is headquartered in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia and has a fleet of 65 aircraft flying to 72 destinations. UTair no longer has any Airbus models in the fleet and their largest aircraft is the Boeing 767-300ER.
After being stored in January, 2015, the Airbus A321-211 returned to service on March 15, 2016, this time with WOW air. The airplane is configured for a maximum total of 200 passengers in a single class system. This is one of 12 A321 models in the fleet and one of four different seating configurations.
With the demise of WOW air, this airliner moved on to Air Canada Rouge, joining the fleet on April 26, 2019 as C-GHPJ. Unfortunately, due to the lockdown issues of 2020, the airplane was then stored by Rouge in April, 2020.

Airbus A321-200
The largest in the Airbus A320 Family, the Airbus A321-200 first flew with launch customer Monarch Airlines in April, 1997. A rare, earlier version of the A321, the A321-100, was introduced with Lufthansa three years earlier in March, 1994.
The A321 is 45 metres or 146 feet in length (23 feet longer than the A320) and has a wingspan of 36 metres or 118 feet. At the tail, the aircraft stands 12 metres or 39 feet in height. The flight range is 5,950 kilometres. In all, nearly 1,500 have entered service.
WOW air
WOW air was founded in November, 2011 and commenced operations on May 31, 2012. Headquartered in Reykjavik, Iceland and based at Keflavik International Airport, WOW is a low cost carrier and an affordable alternative for travel between North America and Europe.
In March, 2019, the airline was unable to secure financing. WOW air abruptly ceased operations, leaving many customers on their own to re-book flights with other airlines.
The airline currently has a fleet of 11 aircraft flying to 26 destinations in Europe, Canada and the United States. In Canada, WOW flies to just Toronto and Montreal with those routes starting in 2016. The fleet consists of Airbus A321-200, Airbus A321neo and Airbus A320neo aircraft.
